Report the theft at a Bulgarian police department and ask for a police report (Протокол от полицията), if you have a copy of the stolen document take it with you to ensure that your stolen document is not misused and to prove your identity until a new one is issued.
Before visiting the Consulate in person, please send us the police report in pdf format to our e-mail address (consulate.sof@mfa.gov.hu) with your personal data (name, date and place of birth, mother's name, Bulgarian address, relevant contact information).
In its response to your e-mail, the consular staff is going to ask you the following:
- fill out 2 application forms to receive an ETD (one of the European Commission and one of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs),
- bring a fresh passport photo with you.
After the relevant Lithuanian authority has confirmed your identity, you are going to be asked to visit the Consulate in person to receive the document at a pre-arranged appointment.
The ETD costs 30 EUR which you need to pay on site and you can do it only by card.
If your lost/stolen document is found, you should also report it to the consulate.
